The Linky meter
Most homes in France have a green Linky smart meter, installed and owned by Enedis. If your power goes off when several appliances run at once, you may be exceeding the power (in kVA) of your electricity contract. Your energy supplier can tell you your subscribed power.
Why the RCD trips
An RCD (interrupteur différentiel) cuts the power when it detects a current leak, often from a washing machine, an oven, a water heater or moisture in an outdoor socket. Unplug appliances, reset the RCD, then plug them back one by one. If it keeps tripping, send us a photo of your fuse board.
Whole street without power? Call Enedis
If your neighbours and the street lights are also off, the problem is on the public grid, not in your flat. Call Enedis, the grid operator, not an electrician: an electrician cannot repair the public network.
Landlord or tenant: who pays?
In a rental, the tenant usually covers small everyday upkeep, such as replacing bulbs or a broken switch cover. The landlord is usually responsible for the installation itself, for wear and for bringing it up to standard. Check your lease and tell your landlord or agency before major work.

No. Delta Elec works 7 days a week from 7am to 9pm, including weekends and public holidays. Call-outs outside these hours are not offered.

How fast can an electrician arrive?

How much does a call-out cost?
The Flash call-out costs 124 € incl. VAT, with travel and 1 hour of labour included, parts extra. A simple call-out fee starts from 59 € and is deducted if you accept the quote.
How can I pay?
You can pay by card, cash or bank transfer. Cheques are not accepted. You receive an invoice you can pass on to your landlord, agency or company.
Is the work insured?
Yes. Installation work is covered by a ten-year liability insurance (garantie décennale) through the broker April. Equipment comes from Hager, Schneider Electric and Legrand, fitted to the French standard NF C 15-100.
